I got all inspired by the tutorials of the Festival of Hexagons that I had to try some. It resulted in this combo. At first I wanted to try one of those hexstatic hexagons and it went well. Later on it became the central piece of the quilt. Than I liked the seaside chevron and I started thinking about actually making it. I made the chevron a bit wider and added some hand quilting. Also the look of the hexagon used for the pouch catch my eye. As I used some scraps I also made few little ones using the method shown in pixie hexie wallet. So thanks for all those lovely and helpful tutorials which encouraged me to finish my first regular size quilt. It was a bit rush but I'm glad that I finished on time and could join in. I kind of challenge myself with it. It was not easy as my stash is very little and I had hard time choosing some fabrics that would work together. There are some Ikea fabrics, some polka dots, some upcycled .... If you want to see more pics you can check my previous posts.
To mi ovšem nevadí. Já si zkusila zase něco nového. Poprvé jsem šila s kráčející patkou, vyzkoušela si ruční prošívání a další, takže já jsem spokojená.
Backing is simple. I used some fun midgets and polka dots. The binding is also polka dots. The final hand stitched binding was the best part. It's great feeling to finish something. I have tried couple new things while working on this quilt so it's already a success for me.
