I wanted to try the journal cover tutorial by Rachel for quite some time. Finally I used it for this recipe cover. The idea is to slide all those already written recipes on papers into it. No need to retype. I added simple mitt to make a gift set.

Na školní besídce si děti budou dávat drobné dárky. Z tohoto důvodu vznikla sovička. A jak to tak bývá nezůstalo u jedné. Znáte to. Mami, ještě růžovou :-) Použila jsem tento návod, jen jsem spodní část nestáhla úplně a přidala kolečko filcu na začištění.
It's last day of school today and the kids are exchanging little gifts. So I made these little owls using this tutorial. I only made small change on the bottom.

Předpověď počasí nevypadá dobře! Možná bych ten konec světa měla brát vážně! Tak tedy, končím s osobní hygienou. No řekněte na co si dneska budu mýt vlasy? Hodit by se mohly i brýle, ať na to velký finále pořádně vidím. Štastný konec světa!
The forecast doesn't look any good. I should take the doomsday threats more seriously! I'm having difficulties with my hairdo. Washing my hair seems really pointless at this time around. I grabbed some snow glasses. I hope I'll see the end more clearly in those. Happy doomsday!

Oh that's a GREAT idea for recipes - I have a collection of recipes that are just bits and pieces of papers and I have no interest in retyping everything, so they're in an old and well used file folder - UGLY!! Cute owls too - I like your finishing technique better than the one in the original tute - much nicer :)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Happy Doomsday to you --- it appears that the Aussies have made it through unscathed, so there's hope for the rest of us ... I'm still going to eat all the chocolate though - JUST IN CASE!!! ;) Love your glasses - you've prepared well, grasshopper!!

That's funny! Love your journal cover and owls, Vexa. I'm such a sucker for texty projects. Thanks for linking up to TGIFF! We've got a doozy of a snow storm coming our way too. Perhaps I shouldn't have been too flippant about the 'End of the World'. ;)

Hi Vexa, i love your journal idea. So easy to rip recipes put of magazines and this is a great way to keep them all neat and tidy. Your owls are so cute, I'm sure all the kids will be happy to receive them. Thanks for linking up at my blog today. I am in Australia - only 3 hours of 21st December left and so far all is still the same in my world! Cheers, Karen.

Haha!! Yes, happy Doomsday. I think I'll have to run "Knowing" through the DVD if I want to see the world end! Love those owls! How cute can you get?

I love the fabric you used for your journal cover. And those owls are adorable! Since it's the end of the world today, I ate a big brownie last night, and I might eat one for breakfast too!
