Třetí na cestě/WiP

Tak se mi tu klube třetí deka. V sobotu jdeme na rodinnou oslavu a nevěděla jsem co za dárek. Předchozí deka měla u dědy úspěch, tak jsem se rozhodla, že se pustím opět do deky. Nejdřív jsem chtěla začít úplně novou, ale nakonec jsem se rozhodla dodělat to, co jsem začala. Vynechala jsem pár zatáček a teď mě čeká další dobrodružství v podobě volného prošití. Ještě jsem to ani nezkoušela, takže jakkoliv to bude fajn :-) Držte palce, budu to potřebovat.

Some time ago I joined the Totally Groovy QAL. I was not able to finish on time. Right now I need a gift for some family member and I decided to finish it instead of starting new quilt. I skipped few curves and made it more simple. It's my quilt No.3 and it'll be my first time to do some FMQ. Wish me luck. The back is even more simple. Just stripes with little personal embellishment with the sheep fabric and one hammer head. Something to do with the recipients' name and job.

Zadní strana je jednoduchá. Jen pruhy. Ovečky jsou zvolené záměrně a z jedné jsem udělala beránka. Taková malá legrácka, která má něco společného se jménem a prostředím, kde se oslavenec pohybuje.

Klučičí/Boyish

Pro synovce do školky a k narozeninám. Taška na všechno potřebné a autíčkové pouzdro se silnicí. Uvnitř tašky je jedna velká kapsa na zip, na přední straně jedna velká rozdělená kapsa. Inspiraci i návod na garáže najdete tady. Kdybych nešila na poslední chvíli mohlo to být více vymazlené, ale i tak to mělo velký úspěch. Zavírání jednoduché na gumu.

 

 

Sewing for boys is not usually my type of thing. It took me forever to choose fabric which would go with the car panel. Finally gift for my nephew is all finished. Simple tote with divided front pocket and one big zipper pocket inside. Some fun owl print in there. Not so exciting for 3 year old but the car caddy was a big hit. Inspired by homemade by Jill tutorial. I used only easy elastic band closure.

Blogger’s Quilt Festival

I came across couple of posts about Blogger’s Quilt Festival. There are so many incredible quilts that I wondered if I should join in or not. I didn't feel qualified enough as I only made two quilts so far. On the other hand I told myself there is nothing to loose. What's the worst scenario? Nobody is going to show up but I can handle that. It already happened to me with the Festival entry. So here I am and the story of my first quilt.
At first I only wanted to try some tutorials from Hegaxon Quilt Festival but I really liked the result so I started thinking I should make baby quilt. My very first post with first few blocks is here. While working on it I realized it's just the right time for me to make regular size quilt. I started it with scraps but added few fabrics later on. It's pretty much mixture of everything I wanted to try. Some hand stitched appliqué and different kinds of hexagons. I also tried hand quilting. More pics can be found here. I used the hand stitching for the top and batting only than I used walking foot for the very first time to quilt all three layers including backing. The back side is very simple. If you spot some color order in there I'll be glad as I spent a lot of time just to match it in some way. Thank you for a lovely event I'm inspired already by so many pretties.

Právě probíhá Festival plný krásných dek. Nejdřív jsem váhala, zda se zúčastnit, ale o nic nejde a zkusit se má všechno. Rozhodně doporučuju pro inspiraci, je tam spousta neuvěřitelně krásných dek.

 

Vánoční/Little ones

Minulý víkend jsem šila mini vánoční domečky. Teda zkušební verzi jsem ušila ještě v týdnu, ale jak jsem spěchala ve výsledku mi to nějak neladilo, tak jsem musela ušit jiné, pro klid duše. Neřekla bych, že jsem perfekcionista, to ani náhodou, jen mám ráda, když to ladí a to druhé duo tedy ladí mému oku dokonale :-)

Last weekend I was working on some mini Xmas houses. The first testing version was not right to my eye so I had to remake it in more matching version. I came up with this cute little duo which is just right for the matching freak in me. Inspired by the retromama pattern.

Inspiraci jsem našla na stránkách retromama, kde je i střih ke stažení. Moje verze je upravená na velikost trpaslíků. Měla jsem pocit, že vánoce jsou ještě daleko, ale s tím jak včera napadl sníh mám dojem, že už jsou vážně za rohem. Dneska dopoledne jsme si pěkně pohráli se sněhem a zkřížili jsme sněhuláka s "dýni" a na malou chvíli jsme měli Snoweena. Skleněný akvárko jsme tam samozřejmě nenechali a přidělali jsme mu něco jako žabí hlavu. Rychle to taje, ale i tak jsme si to užili.

It's getting pretty close to xmas. I didn't feel that way last week but after we received some snow yesterday I change my mind. We had a blast this morning as we built the Snoween. Snoween is snowman with halloween pumpking head on, lol. It's actually on old aquarium bowl and we didn't leave it on as the snow is melting down quite quickly. We usually don't have a snow at this time around, it was bit unexpected.
